The Volunteer Kootenays Program connects volunteers with organizations that are making a difference.
Whether it’s just for fun, to build your skills, to meet an expectation of school or community service or to build your connection to the community, Volunteer Kootenays can help you reach your volunteer goal. A variety of experiences are available, including long-term positions and one-time experiences.
Volunteer Kootenays helps by:
- Promoting volunteerism by connecting people with opportunities to serve
- Building capacity for effective volunteering by offering workshops and training for volunteer managers
- Offering screening and placement services to meet the needs of the volunteers and organizations
- Providing leadership on issues related to volunteerism
Volunteer Kootenays can also link organizations in the region to potential volunteers. Whether you organize special events, community festivals or have ongoing volunteer programs, Volunteer Kootenays can help you reach a broader audience in your volunteer recruitment efforts.
Membership is open to any volunteer, organization, or program in the Kootenays.
