Public Health Units offers a variety of services in one location.
Public Health Centres are responsible for delivering core programs for public health that broadly cover the areas of health improvement, prevention of disease, disability and injury, health emergency management, and environmental health.
- Early Years: Public Health Nurses (PHNs) assess maternal & newborn health and development, and provide education and ongoing support through early childhood as needed.
- Child Health Clinics: Global health and development assessments, health information, education and referrals. Immunizations according to the BC Immunization Guide for children at 2, 4, 6, 12, and 18 months, and for 4-6 year olds.
