Central Okanagan Hospice House (IHA)

Provides support for individuals and families facing a life-limiting illness with a prognosis of < 6 months, at home and in care settings
The hospice house provides:
  • Pain and symptom management
  • Emotional and Spiritual Support
  • Alternative Therapies
Eligibility: Patients must have a life-limiting illness with a prognosis of < 6 months. Have a MOST designation "M" and be on board with palliative care treatment. Be 19 years or older. Have a family Physician who will participate in care. Registration with BC Palliative Benefits. Be registered with the Central Okanagan Hospice Palliative Care Program.

Healthcare providers who see patients at the hospice: Dietitian, Family Physician, Nurse, Occupational therapist, Respiratory therapist, Social worker, Volunteers.

Patient instructions:
  • Please bring all of your current medications.
  • Patients will be responsible for the cost of medications not covered by BC Palliative Benefits.
  • There is a cost for a bed at the hospice; it changes yearly so please contact clinical practice educator at the hospice.
Cancellation policy: Please provide 24 hours cancellation notice.

This service is provided 24/7. Staff are able to "buzz" visitors in. Code for entry available from staff. Please bring your IH access card ask for COHH staff to assist you and we can add you to the CHUBB system to access the building 24/7.
